Directions

  1. Wrap bands of color along every other vertical division line.
  2. Stitch green uwagake over the bands. The top stitch goes close to where two bands overlap on the vertical division lines not wrapped and the bottom stitch goes around the band rather than a simple point.
  3. Work a starburst over the N and S poles with the ends of the stitches going into the tops of the uwagake stitches.
  4. Wrap the green obi.
  5. Add metallic cross stitches over the obi.

Notes

This silk wraps beautifully giving a nice ribbon look. It is a real shame that Vikki will not be carrying it anymore. #050302 is the same pattern in a different colorway. Some variation ideas that might be fun to try: use a different number of divisions, do different wrap colors on alternate lines, space out the uwagake stitches instead of having them right close to each other, work spindles in the obi negative space having the obi interwoven with them.
