Directions

  1. Wrap and mark C10.
  2. There are three stitching paths to use:
    • red pentagons, worked outward from start position (red on sample)
    • blue pentagons, worked outward from start (blue on sample)
    • green diamonds, worked out until they meet (peach on sample)
  3. Stitch the blue pentagons and red pentagons alternately until you are 2 or 3 rounds from the halfway mark as noted in the diagram.
  4. Stitch the green diamonds with peach thread until they fill the space on the ball leaving only their centers open.
  5. Go back to stitching the alternating pentagons until they fill the center of the diamonds.
  6. Finish with a row of metallic on the pentagons if desired.

Notes

The mohair was neat to stitch with and is a dream to feel on the finished ball but I think this design could use a firmer, more defined thread such as a perle cotton for the blue and red sections.
