Directions

  1. Mark 122 multipole with thread to match wrap.
  2. Stitch lazy daisy flowers at each pentagon and the five hexagons surrounding it.
  3. Stitch red hexagons in the hexagons between two flower sections (see diagram).
  4. Stitch green lazy daisy flowers in the remaining hexagons.
  5. Stitch a black V section on top of the red hexagons to create the ladybug head (see diagram).
  6. Stitch french knots with black for the ladybug spots and white for the ladybug eyes.
  7. Stitch gold outlines around the ladybugs and flower sections.
  8. Add black straight stitches for the antennae.

Notes

French knots on temari are a pain. I think if I ever do this one again I will buy little black seed beads to use for the spots. I liked the way the watercolors thread felt on the ball. It changed considerably when all of the pieces were stitched.
