Directions

  1. Wrap a wide obi with purple neon rays.
  2. Stitch zigzags with stitches at the edge of the wrapped obi and crossing at obi halfway between vertical marking lines. 1 row copper, 3 rows green, 1 row copper. (green solid and dotted lines on diagram)
  3. Stitch larger zigzags. Stitches are at the halfway point between obi and poles. Start on one marking line, cross the obi at the next line and take the stitch on the next line. You'll get zigzags on one set of lines (red solid and dotted lines on diagram) and then repeat on the other set (blue solid and dotted lines on diagram). 1 row copper, 6 rows overture, 1 row copper, 2 rows green (with two strands in needle), 1 row copper.

Notes

Need to pay close attention to spacing as you come to the poles so that the negative space star looks even. Created for the level 1 JTA but then decided not to use it in favor of a design done only with #5 perle cotton. I think the colors are iffy...not my favorite, mostly based on the overture color that I happened to have in my stash.
