Directions

  1. Mark C10 using thin thread.
  2. Work an interlocked triwing in each icosahedral triangle as shown on diagram. 1 row white, 2 rows blue, 1 row white
  3. Work pentagons at each 10-way intersection interlocked with the tips of the tri-wings. See diagram for placement.

Notes

This started out as the same design as 060204 and 060201 but I didn't have room to complete the design on this mari so I modified it. I also figured out that the triangles in those designs must be stitched first. This design is easier to write up for my JTA certification though so I used it for level 2. Will try again on a larger mari and also have a S10 design planned using the triwings. It will need additional support lines at the obi. The triwings will interlock on the two arms near the obi. This design has interesting negative space when it is partially done...there are some possibilities to play with.
