Diagrams

Line drawing showing the start of the continuous stitching path
Start of HHG path shown; start at dot and work in direction of arrow towards N pole.

Directions

  1. Mark 122 pole with gold, tack major intersections.
  2. Start stitching HHG path with a yard of one color.
  3. Switch to a new color at the end of each yard and continue stitching along the HHG path.
  4. As you start working back up from the S pole, try to arrange colors so there is minimal color overlap,
  5. Repeat for as many rounds as needed to fill space (I used 3). Keep colors matched even though you will need more than a yard for each row after the first.
  6. Do the last row with black.

Notes

Stitched using a Hitu Hude Gake stitching path with multiple colors. (See HHG pattern for a C10 on TemraiKai.com) It worked right up until the last section on the way to the south pole but then was ok with a minor modification. I would like to explore why it didn't quite work out right. It's a graph theory problem I think.
