Directions

Dual tetrahedral triangles are stitched from the outside in (shitagake) with squares and triangles worked from the inside out around their intersections. All is interwoven (kousa kagari). Stitching order is tetrahedral triangles (red, blue on diagram) with yellow then other squares and triangles (green on diagram) with red for three rounds, then reverse colors for one round (I used orange instead of yellow on this round), go back to original colors for one more round and finish up with red on the small squares and triangles to fill in spaces as needed. At this point the spaces could be wrapped rather than stitched.

Notes

I ran out of yellow velvet so had to finish up with orange. This was a Stitch Along so will be written up in detail on TemariKai. I love the raised effect of the velvet against the smooth perle cotton background. It was nice that the last rows to fill in the design could be wrapped, giving a nice finish.
