Simple 16, uwagake
31cm circumference
Simple 16 with obi, no support lines needed
Start at the obi and work towards the pole. Each round of uwagake chidori is worked with the uwagake style at the bottom. The top of the zig-zag starts at the 1/4 to N pole point, for the next round it is at the 1/2, then 3/4 and the last row is about .8cm from the pole. One row of each color of brown, then 1 row of copper. Work small straight stitches in the V created near the N pole (dk red) then lazy daisies for each section down alternating burgundy and dk red. Work 4 lazy daisy stitches at the 4 way intersections in the spaces on the obi in dk red.
This ball is for the color swap GITS from Stitch In NY 2006. Jean C. provided the wrapped mari and the threads. I liked this iteration of the design better than 060408 but I still think it needs finer thread and a large mari so you can do more rows. Don't know if I will play with it again.
