Directions

This is the classic squares beginning pattern. The squares are stitched in pairs that are opposite each other. Work one pair in regular closed shape kagari, one pair in alternating row kagari, and one pair alternating stitch and row kagari. There are 5 rows green, 1 row metallic, 4 rows blue, 2 rows metallic, 5 rows pink on each square. Finish by wrapping bands of metallic along the edges of the squares.

Notes

This was a practice ball to look at the new kagari techniques on 4 sided shapes. I don't like the techniques on the squares as much as I do on shapes with more sides. Also I think the techniques are more effective without color changes.
