C6, alternating stitch and row kagari, open shape, interlocked
25cm circumference
C6, could easily be done on C8

Work a hexagon in the center of one set of tetrahedral triangles (total of 4 hexagons) using orange thread and working alternating stitch and row kagari. (See kagari pattern investigation.) The starting place is halfway along the line from the center of the triangle to the corner. (This would be the 4-way intersection on a C8). The other corners of the hexagon are equally placed out from the center. Shift to the other set of tetrahedral triangles. Work 4 more hexagons using green and interlocking with the orange hexagons. Finish with two rows of pink Using two strands of thread in the needle around each of the square faces (6 total).
This one was made as an exercise for the kagari pattern investigation. I wanted to see what happpened when the new kagari arrangement was layered. Originally I did not interlock the hexagons but I didn't like the finished look. I do like the layering. This one might be nice to do with stronger colors, but maintaining a high contrast background.
