Directions

  1. Stitch an octagon on each 8-way intersection using alternating row kagari (zig-zag effect) with orange thread. Shown in shaded orange on diagrams.
  2. Stitch the black lines that cross the N and S pole, crossing at 8-way intersections and packing the stitches to get full coverage. Shown in blue and green on diagrams. Use first diagram for placement.
  3. Stitch the shorter black segments on the octagons at the obi to cover the sections that were not covered in step 2. Purple on second diagram.

Notes

Stitched as an example for the kagari pattern investigation. I was experimenting with showing only small sections of the shape to highlight the zig-zag effect.
