Division/Marking

1082 multi-facet using multiple of three method

Directions

  1. Wrap a mari and mark a C10 with dk pink.
  2. Use the diamond method with a factor of 2 to mark a 42 in dk pink.
  3. Use the multiple of three method to mark a 122 in green.
  4. Use the multiple of 3 method to mark a 362. Work the 2 lines next to the pentagons in dk pink, work the outer lines in white.
  5. Use the multiple of three method one more time to create a 1082. Work the 4 lines next to the pentagons in med pink and work the others in white. I left the lines out of the centers of the pentagons.

Notes

This is a second attempt at coloring the markings of a multi-facet so that they become the design. I had intended to work each layer in a different color but I changed my mind as I worked the ball. It was surprisingly easy and accurate to mark using the multiple of three method. (For more info aobut it see the multi-facet math study. This type of design does not look as good close up as it does from a short distance away. The closeup pictures do not do it justice. I'll have to find a way to take photos that have a better composition.
