Diagrams

Blue lines show where the 4 large triangle sections will be.

One large triangle shown, dotted lines are support lines and continue into the adjacent triangles.
Directions
- Wrap mari and mark a C6 with a removable thread. If necessary tack the intersections with the wrap thread.
- Locate the four large triangles and add support lines for the triwings.
- Stitch one large triwing in each triangle. The points will extend into adjacent triangles. I used one row black, 5 rows color (doubled thread in needle) then one row black.
- Embellish the hexagon area of the triwing as desired. I stitch black slanted lines from the inside corner to an outside corner and added a row of black around the outside.
- THe remaining triwings will be slightly offset from the first one. The diagram from #051101 shows this nicely. Ignore the blue lines and measurements on it.
- Stitch small triangles at the remaining 6-way intersections. I used one row black, two rows color (doubled thread) and one row black.
- Remove all marking lines.
Notes
Thanks to Joan on TC for the tip about using a wrap thread match to tack intersections when you are removing the marking lines. Then you do not have to be concerned about removing the tacking stitchs and your intersections are still secured. I wrapped this mari in the Pixelles not knowing what I would stitch with out. Signature Pixelles threads are one reason to go ahead andbrave a rayon wrap thread. They are beautiful and well worth the extra fuss. The pattern is a repeat of the one I did for the Katrina GITS, #051101. I have always loved the movement the triwings seem to have on that design. Besides, I needed to stitch something with triwings for the Hexagon Math study.
