Directions

  1. Wrap mari and mark a Simple 8 with obi in gold
  2. Stitch large diamonds around the equator. Stitches are placed 1/4 the distance from pole to equator and just to the side of each division line. Use the following sequence of colors:
    1. dark rose
    2. medium rose
    3. light pink
  3. Stitch one row of dark rose and then repeat the above step with the colors in reverse order.
  4. Stitch pine needle sprays in the negative space around the equator (see side view above).
  5. Stitch an 8 point starburst in the pole negative space with the stitches in between the marking lines.

Notes

This is a design for a mini class I will do for my daughters friends. I wanted something simple enough for them for their first time. This is a design that works well for experimenting and it will look good even with fewer rows if they get tired of stitching. It will also work great with a variety of coloring schemes so they should be able to really make it their own.
