Directions

  1. Wrap mari and mark a C10 with black metallic. Add lines for a complete 42 center marking. (Diamond side divided by 2)
  2. Use a continuous zig zag path taking stitches on the diamond sides. Start with yellow close to the center of a pentagon.
  3. Repeat step 2 until all diamonds have a yellow path through them. You will need to be mindful of which direction should go under the other like for a basketweave design.
  4. Repeat with orange in the middle of the diamond side and dark rust near the end of the side.
  5. Stitch black shapes (pentagons and hexagons) weaving through the lines previously placed.

Notes

I apoogize in advance for the sloppy instructions. I need to do a few more of these and this is not the best one to explain fully because of the different colors. Unfortunately the colors do not line up nicely in all of the pentagons or hexagons on the ball so the nice star that you see in the picture is not apparent all over the ball. I've wnated to try one of these for a long time. Other than establishing the weaving for the zig zags it was really not that hard.
